 Terms and Conditions

Please Read Carefully – There is no small print.
 
I) The Saturday School undertakes to provide small group tuition in the areas of English, Verbal Reasoning, Non Verbal Reasoning and Mathematics. This takes place at the Harris Academy, The Green, Welling, DA16 2PE between the hours 09.30 – 11.30. The Primary Tuition Groups take place at the Franklin Road Scout Hall, Bexleyheath DA7 4QA between the hours of 5.15 to 7.15. We operate a 36 week programme in line with our local school borough's term dates.

II) It is a condition of the school authorities that parents should not cause bottlenecks or parking infringements outside the premises when parking their vehicles.  A car park is provided at Harris Academy and roadside parking is available at Franklin Road. Please do not park on the kerbs if boxes are not provided as fines are given in this area.

III) All children in attendance at the Harris Academy must be escorted to their classroom and then left with the teacher in charge.  Under no circumstances must children ever be allowed to enter the school on their own. Any parent found in breach of this ruling will run the risk of forfeiting their child’s placeHarris Academy request that parents vacate the premises during the sessions for security reasons. We ask that you abide by this and collect your children from the designated point.

IV) Assessments are carried out purely to determine a child’s ability.  A status report is provided after complition of the assessment.  The assessment fee must be made in advance of the assessment being carried out. More detailed written assessments can be provided at an extra cost, but must be requested prior to the commencement of the process, they are generaly for external bodies such as Social Services.

V) A total of 36 sessions are charged for each year in 12 monthly payments. Homework may be requested when a child is absent, but this must be prior to the session.  If bad winter weather closes the school, no refunds are made but classes will be extended to make up the time over the following weeks.

VI) A two month cash payment is taken in advance. This is to cover the last two months notice that we require should a parent wish to terminate the tuition. No fees are taken for the last six weeks that a child is in attendance.  This payment is taken due to the situation where students regularly receive tuition in advance of their payments being received.  This is due to the pay monthly facility.  By taking this advance payment we make the business secure for everyone involved.  The advanced fees are held on deposit until required to fulfil this payment.

VII) The Monthly standing order payments start as soon as the child starts at the Saturday School or Primary Tuition Groups. In some cases cash payments for all fees may be allowed, but fees are then collected each half term in advance.

VIII) If fees are not settled, as contracted, then this may result in the forfeiture of the child's place at  the school.

IX) If a place is not available at the time of assessment then the child’s name will be added to the waiting list. In this situation a £45.00 deposit will be requested. This will be deducted from the first months standing order which is payable following an offer of a place. Parents will be contacted once a suitable place becomes available.

X) It is the parents responsibilty to ensure that each child is suitably equipped with pens, pencils, work books etc and that these resources are bought to class each week.  A supplies list highlighting the required items is sent with every letter of confirmation.

XI) If at any time a child is found to have special needs, that we feel would be accommodated more successfully with an alternative form of support, then parents will be notified and arrangements made. In these circumstances no fees will be held and the half terms fees collected in advance will be refunded.   

XII) We regret that cheque payments cannot be made.  Fees are collected by deposit to our bank account or cash payments.  PayPal may be used but incurs an extra charge.  

XIII) Places are offered on the basis that the child gives a commitment to attend at least one term.

XIV) 48 hours notice is required for assessment cancellations (failure to notify the proprietors within the time specified may result in parents having to pay the whole or part of the fee again).
